If you had fun at Café Echelon, enjoyed the food at Taboo, and liked to hang out at the Blue Room, you're gonna love The Pearl.
The Pearl derives its name and décor from the essence of the freshwater pearl. Iridescent and translucent shades of teal, bronze, platinum, copper and red give The Pearl it sense of warmth and comfort.
The menu includes Alaskan king crab, Cajun seafood pasta, barbeque shrimp, scallops and salmon, crawfish etouffee, Jamaican jerk chicken egg rolls, lobster tail and shrimp. In keeping with Southern traditions, the spot serves gourmet Southern cuisine such as Hennessey apricot-glazed pork chops, collard greens, candied yams and cheese grits.

The minute you enter you are told to wait to be seated?? You cant sit anywhere unless you are buying food. I was asked to move 3 three times. Either that seat was reserved when I just watched someone get up, or I just could not sit. The drinks are all served in the same size glass and extremlely over priced for not being top shelf liquor and the staff are all rude. I go to a bar to drink. If you claim to be a Bistro, then have a seperate area to eat at and let the bar/club/dance area be just that.
Lastnight there was a mixtape album release party and OMG I waisted gas and $20 at Pearl Bistro. Horrible atmosphere I came home smelling like i was with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker in the Movie FRIDAY.
The Pearl Bistro & Bar is by far the WORST so-called “upscale” establishment ANYWHERE in the metro Atlanta area. On Friday, February 18, 2011, my husband, sister, friends and I went out to see Rose Royce. When we walk in, we were IMMEDIATELY accosted by the strongest smell of MILDEW mixed with smoke! The place has the stench of “old house” dampness, grease, body funk/sweat and stale cigarette smoke. As a whole this building is absolutely HORRIBLE and should be demolished!!!!!! I am sure it is some kind of health hazard!! The staff was rude and extremely unprofessional. The only person that appeared to have any sense of decorum was the man at the ticket/payment window when you first arrive. He was rude, but with a professional twist (if you can imagine that.) When we entered we thought we would be shown to our RESERVED table. Instead we were told to “find one”. When we did try to select one of the FIVE that were available near the dance floor/stage, we were told we could not sit there, then shown a table in the very front of the club (far from the dance floor/stage). The room where we were seated smelled particularly bad and everyone in there was smoking which only made it worse. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, our waiter finally showed up complaining about how hard they were working him. While talking to us, he casually sneezed into his open hand then wiped it on the serving towel hanging from his side. EWWWWW!! I gladly gave him some hand sanitizer. He took our drink order. 20 minutes later he returned with mine and my husband’s water (not the way I requested it) and something other than what my sister ordered. She went to the bar only to find they do not carry what she ordered (they were just going to give her what they wanted her to have!!) Our waiter finally came back and took our food order THREE TIMES!! At this point we were so disgusted we decided to leave and just go to dinner. Instead of just walking out, we told them we were leaving as courtesy, (though they did not deserve it!!) The waiter actually went off on us…profanity and all. We were practically held hostage by some little ghetto alley cat, who refused to allow us to leave unless we spoke with a manager. She actually went to the officer on duty to get him to block us from leaving (WTF?!?!?) The “manager” finally appeared and wanted a detailed explanation of why we were leaving. (When did this become necessary or rule?) After telling him MOST of the atrocities we had experienced, he actually got mad and asked us to leave (HUH?!?!?) We will NEVER again patronize this establish even if God Himself were going to be there!! It is a sad time when substandard, below-par service is the norm and WE as a community not only accept it, but CONTINUALLY spend our hard earned money to get it. In a nutshell, if you want that “upscale” hole-in-the-wall feel…go to THE PEARL BISTRO & BAR!!! If I could rate them a -5 stars I would!!!!!!!!
