Churchill's was a breath of fresh air, after visiting two other "Irish" pubs in the area last night. People playing darts, a beautiful fire with comfortable seating around it, game tables for checkers, etc., and I believe pool tables on the other side, surround a beautiful cozy bar with very friendly bartenders. The bar itself (where the bartenders stand) is the original and has not been changed in ~35 years, we were told. You could easily meet friends for a beer, take a date, or even meet family members at this pub and feel comfortable in each situation. There were televisions to enjoy the game, but they did not dictate the conversation or atmosphere. Well done. Perhaps a local "pub" that has been known in Atlanta for years could take note, and try to bring some of this charm back into their establishment?
